New finished project: Accoya House! Approximately 2.2 m3 of the highly sustainable Accoya wood was used for this 120 m2 patio house located in the 19th century harbour docks which are now called Borneo and Sporenburg. We were asked by the owners of one of the houses located on the Ertskade to completely redesign the patio and to make an extension on the top floor. We made it our mission to create a highly sustainable, durable and beautiful home for them in which the interior blends seamlessly with the exterior. This is mainly achieved by applying Accoya all throughout the building: the window frames, the facade cladding, the fencing of the stairs and even the hand railings and the front door knob. The floorboards match the Accoya because they are also made of a light coloured pine wood and therefore share the same appearance. For more information and photos please check link in bio
Exciting news: the permit is granted for our Casa Feijoa project! A lovely biobased home with hidden patio and roof terrace.
On one of the trickiest plots we managed to push the envelope as far as we could.
Resulting in a compact home that feels bigger than its actual size due to the centrally placed outdoor space and interconnecting sight lines.
We can’t wait to start building at the end of 2025!

Together with @yomabouw we are building our first 100% natural hempcrete (‘kalkhennep’ in Dutch) wall! In the new BSO (‘buitenschoolse opvang’ a.k.a. after school child care) for @kleintjezuid this wall will form the barrier in between two of the larger groups. Yesterday Yomabouw was accompanied by a team of young builders from KleintjeZuid’s current daycare located in the Maranathakerk in Amsterdam Zuid.
The hempcrete wall will have 5 different colors (4 pigments and the natural brown color) which are applied layer on top of layer until they reach the +/- 5m high ceiling. More updates will follow soon!
HOP has designed a vast amount of kitchens up to the very last detail. All of the designs contain natural materials such as wood (veneer) and stone, sometimes combined with raw materials such as stainless steel and terrazzo. Here you can see a selection of some of our finished projects.

Project update! The wooden structure of our project along the Ruysdaelstraat is finished and the roof lights have been installed. We’re thrilled to see how this lovely office project is coming together! The new built areas as well as the renovated areas will be connected by different wooden (interior) elements and will form a bright, airy and natural office space and where the office garden will offer tenants a lovely green space within the heart of Amsterdam Zuid.

There’s a new hotspot in town and its name is Piattini! HOP designed the interior of this 44m2 café in Amsterdam Zuid, on the Marathonweg near Olympiaplein. The place is run by an amazing Italian couple, Giulia and Maicol, who are both from Venice and are living their dream by running their own café / restaurant in Amsterdam. Piattini is 100% Venice inspired: The color scheme of the interior comes from the Venezia FC soccer team with orange, green and black tones. The hammered metal sheets on the bar and the display wall represent the waters of the Venitian Canals. And the food, which is prepared by Maicol, originates from local Venitian cuisine. Additional views from our Buiksloterdijk project showing the unconventional design with a dark oak kitchen, round skylights, a pink railing and a double height bookcase. The folding doors, which can be fully opened, allow the residents to enjoy the panoramic view at the rear of the house.
This home on Buiksloterdijk in Amsterdam Noord has undergone a major transformation. Through clever interventions in the floor plan and an extension over two floors, the house has not only increased in terms of square footage but now also has a very spacious feel to it. The void, with a book cabinet that extends over both floors, brings in plenty of light in the lower floor, and connects the living area downstairs with the dining and kitchen areas upstairs.
Kicking off the new year with the start of construction for @kleintjezuid. In this monumental building in Amsterdam Zuid there will be an after-school child care center. The space as seen in the photos will consist of a mezzanine with integrated play elements such as a hanging net and a slide going down alongside the stairs. Various other spaces, such as a group kitchen and a dancing hall, create all together space for approximately 60 children. Opening is planned August 1st of this year
