Welcome to HOP Architects! HOP stands for Habitats of People. Our strength lies in the total design in which exterior and interior reinforce each other. We have extensive experience with both new-build and self-build houses. We take care of the entire process: from design to obtaining all necessary permits and construction supervision.

With a small team of architects and interior architects, we help self-builders create sustainable, beautiful and healthy living environments, both in the field of architecture and interior. When building a house yourself, these two disciplines come together and our expertise in both areas leads to a harmonious whole, a pleasant atmosphere and a unique character.
HOP's self-build houses are characterized by a spatial and minimalist design in combination with natural, high-quality materials with their own texture, color and scent. We always pay attention to the small details that make a project special. But because every client has his or her own wishes, every project is unique!
Although we are based in Amserdam, we are active throughout the Netherlands. HOP is a reliable architectural firm that thinks along from the start of the design process until the self-build home is actually there.

Sustainable & Future-proof Self-build Designs
Natural sustainable materials that have a low environmental impact are at the basis of our designs. In addition, we incorporate energy-efficient elements such as solar panels, heat pumps and heat recovery systems into our designs in such a way that they become part of the architecture. Where possible we integrate nature into our designs to create healthy environments for people as well as animals.
We work together
During a self-build project, you have to work closely together with many different disciplines. Therefore we have built up a large network of contractors, furniture builders, graphic designers, welders, facade specialists, lighting consultants and even marketing/strategy experts.
Time & Budget
In addition to going through your wishes and requirements, during a first free consult we also take the time to talk about the available budget and the duration of a project to ensure we make a design that matches the conditions that are set.
During the design process, the design is presented by floor plans, 3D images, material samples and possibly physical models, to make sure you will have a clear insight into the project before it is realised.
